To create a variation of an existing item, you no longer need to set up everything from scratch. The Duplicate action opens a filled copy, and you only change what’s different.
When to use
-
When you maintain multiple versions of the same thing: one macro per channel, one filter per team, one attribute per product line.
-
When you want to test a different condition in a filter without altering the original.
-
When you are assembling a new set based on an already validated one.
Prerequisites
Permission to create the item you are duplicating. Duplicating uses the same authorization as creating.
Step-by-step
The action is available in four places.
Macros
Settings, Macros, copy icon on the macro line. The creation form opens pre-filled, with the name "X (copy)".
Conversation list folders
Conversations, saved folder, copy icon. The filter editor opens with the original name, visibility, and conditions. Change the condition directly there and click Save filter: the new folder is created and opened, without affecting the original.
Contact segments
Contacts, segment, Duplicate filter. Same process as folders.
Custom attributes
Settings, Attributes, copy icon. The modal opens pre-filled and the suggested key is the original key with _copia at the end. If that key already exists, the suggestion becomes _copia_2, _copia_3, and so on.
In all cases, saving creates a new record. The original remains exactly as it was.
Notes
-
Not everything is copied. The copy does not include permissions by team and role, AI-filled fields, or children of hierarchical lists. Check these three points in the copy before use.
-
Automations already had the duplicate button and continue to work the same way.
-
The key of the duplicated attribute can be edited before saving. The suggestion exists only to avoid conflict with the original key.
