How to find the most used tags in a period

Last updated on Aug 31, 2026

When to use this

  • You want to know which tags are applied the most in your conversations — for example, the top 5 in the last 60 days
  • You opened the Tags report, saw that it shows one tag at a time, and weren't sure how to compare them all

About this article

Cloud Chat does not have a ready-made tag ranking screen. But there are two paths that deliver exactly that number — one in just a few clicks, the other with more flexibility.

Path 1 — Export the Tags report (fastest)

The "RelatĂłrios > Tags" (Reports > Tags) screen shows one tag at a time: you pick the tag in the selector and see how it evolved over the period. That doesn't help you compare.

The ranking is in the export, which brings all tags at once:

  1. Go to "RelatĂłrios > Tags" (Reports > Tags).
  2. In the period filter, choose "Personalizado" (Custom) and enter the dates you want (e.g. the last 60 days).
  3. Click "Baixar relatĂłrios de marcadores" (Download tag reports).
  4. Open the file and sort by the conversations column, from highest to lowest.

The file has one row per tag, with:

Column What it is
Tag Tag name
Conversations Number of conversations with that tag in the period
Average first response time Average for the period
Average resolution time Average for the period

The first five rows after sorting by the conversations column are the five most used tags in the period.

Path 2 — Report Builder (more flexible)

Use this when you want to cross tags with inbox, team or agent, or keep the report saved so you can check it any time.

  1. Go to the "Construtor de RelatĂłrios" (Report Builder).
  2. Select the cloud_chat_conversations_tags table (one row per tag applied to a conversation).
  3. As the dimension, choose Tag Name.
  4. As the measure, choose the conversation count.
  5. Filter by date using Tagged At (when the tag was applied).
  6. Sort the count in descending order and limit it to the first rows.

To break it down by inbox, team or agent, add the matching columns as a filter.

A conversation with several tags appears once for each tag. That is expected when you are counting tag usage, but it means the sum of the counts is higher than the total number of conversations in the period. Do not use that sum as your total conversation volume.
