Integration of CloudChat with mobile applications (Flutter, React Native, iOS, and Android)
Currently, CloudChat can be integrated into mobile applications via the web widget, using each platform's WebView component.
🔧 How It Works
Our CloudChat widget is distributed as a JavaScript script, automatically made available during the setup of a “Web Widget” type inbox within the CloudChat dashboard.
This script can be embedded in a WebView within your mobile app (whether developed in Flutter, React Native, native Android, or native iOS). This approach allows the chat to be rendered directly inside the app, providing an experience close to the original web widget.
đź’ˇ Use case example: In React Native, you can embed the widget in a
<WebView>pointing to the URL where the script was inserted, ensuring full communication with CloudChat.
đźš« Native SDKs
We currently do not offer official native SDKs for Flutter, React Native, Android, or iOS. We plan to release official SDKs in the future, but no specific date has been set for this release.
In the meantime, using WebView remains the recommended and officially supported way to integrate CloudChat into mobile apps.
âś… Advantages and Limitations
WebView aspects Compatibility Works in any app with WebView support Implementation effort Low — just include the script generated by CloudChat User experience Similar to the web widget Limitation Less flexibility for customization and performance compared to a native SDK
🧠Next Steps
-
In CloudChat, create a new “Web Widget” type inbox.
-
Copy the script generated during the setup.
-
Insert this script into a simple HTML page hosted by your app, and load it inside a WebView.
-
Test the communication and appearance of the widget within your application.
🗓️ Future Roadmap
We are exploring the development of native SDKs for Flutter and React Native, aiming to provide a smoother integration and advanced features such as push notifications and native session control. However, no specific release date has been set for these SDKs at this time.
